Pre-shipment Inspections, Factory Audit

PRIAS follows the latest widely used inspection and audit standards.

ANSI/ASQ Z1.4-2008 / ISO 2859-1

These are the standard sampling plans for lot-by-lot inspection by attributes. They set the sample size from the lot size and inspection level, then give accept and reject numbers for each AQL. Z1.4 is the US standard (successor to MIL-STD-105E) and ISO 2859-1 is the international equivalent. PRIAS uses them for every final random inspection.

4 Point Fabric Inspection System

The 4 point system grades fabric rolls by giving penalty points to each defect by size: up to 3 inches is 1 point, over 3 up to 6 inches is 2, over 6 up to 9 inches is 3, and over 9 inches is 4 points. Holes score 2 points up to 1 inch and 4 points above. The total is converted to points per 100 square yards, and buyers commonly set a limit of about 40 points per roll.

ISO 9001

ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems. It covers customer focus, process control, risk-based thinking and continual improvement. PRIAS factory audits review a supplier’s quality system against these principles.

ISO 14001

ISO 14001 is the international standard for environmental management systems. It helps organisations control waste, emissions and resource use, and meet environmental laws. We review environmental practices against it during factory audits.

ISO/IEC 17020

ISO/IEC 17020 sets requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of bodies that carry out inspection. It guides how inspection companies manage inspectors, procedures and conflicts of interest. PRIAS follows its principles of independence and consistent reporting.
